Nicely done. Jo did a great job of roping you and dragging you back onto the topic from whence you had wandered. 🙂 I’m 3 for 3 (thanks!)

Enjoyed the third but have to day I like the waffling rambling version of Tony. It’s a condition, nay, an affliction I can relate to.

But look, you asked about why the show is called “The Flashing Blade”. Erm, I’m not sure! But can it be a coincidence that both your show and your old show, “Staggering Stories”, both share names with obscure(ish) cult BBC shows that used re-dubbed old footage with added comedy voice-overs(I know the full title was “Staggering Stories of Ferdinand DeBargos” but I’m clutching at straws somewhat. And meandering, don’t forget meandering…)
But..(BUT!!)..wasn’t “The Flashing Blade” latterly re-dubbed with dialogue by the embryonic Russell T Davies?! There’s an obscure “Who” connection there!! BINGO!! (or not, obviously)

To my knowledge, there are three versions of “The Flashing Blade”.

    The French original
    1970’s English dub
    The later ‘humorous’ dub.
I have always loved the title music.

You should do a talk on it Tony.

TBh, I need to get the box set, if only to get clearer recordings of the theme… But I do have very fond memories of the show.. All will be revealed in podcast 1-5…which may be sooner then any of us think…
